Radio/ TV commercials voiceover

Commercial voiceover is a great way to deliver key brand messages or new product information direct to the consumer. It’s a great way to incorporate any advertising slogans, CTAs (call to action) and legals (the bit at the end of an ad where it sounds like someone has pressed the fast forward button. And no, they haven’t been sped up by the sound engineer, it’s the voice actors job to be able to say them that quickly!)

Corporate video narration / corporate video voiceover

Corporate voiceover can come in many varieties. Sometimes it works in the same way as a radio commercial, where you wish to advertise your business/services B2C, perhaps to a local audience, so local radio stations are a great way to do just that. Sometimes a voiceover may be used more B2B or B2E, to accompany a video that is used for more internal purposes, perhaps for a new product launch or a company event.

Instructional Video Voiceover / Explainer Video Voiceover

Usually a voiceover will accompany a short animation or visual which explains a message. Providing instructions and key information you wish to share with your audience. It could be used to explain how your product or service works, or a ‘how to’ guide of instructions. Having a visual and audio element to your explainer helps to get your message across and bring it to life.

Voices for Radio

Radio plays tend to cast actors to voice characters in a production because actors are great storytellers. Actors have the skills to produce believable and genuine performances.

Casting an actor who has experience in voiceover is better still, as they will already be comfortable in a studio environment and generally tend to have a large repertoire of accents and character voices. This enable them to play more than one character in a production. The benefit to you is that it will largely reduce your costs in having to hire lots of actors and instead you may only need to cast 1-4 actors who can multi-role instead.

Character Voices

Character voices can  be used for TV and radio drama, commercials, children’s animations/books and apps. These tend to be ‘larger than life’ voices that can add comical value to your script or to engage a younger audience.

Animation voiceover and gaming voiceover

Video games in particular have developed exponentially over the last 20 years, becoming increasingly filmic and realistic.

Animations often involve story lines and character journeys, making it essential to cast voice actors in these roles.

As a voice actor I am equipped with the skills needed to produce an authentic performance and the tech skills required to produce a good voiceover.

On-hold messaging / Interactive Voice Response (IVR)

If your business has a customer service phone number, you are likely to need on hold, automated messages or voice prompts for example, press 1 for ‘customer service’.

Interactive Voice Response (IVR) is used to help filter customers through to the right person e.g. say ‘yes’ if this is correct, or ‘no’ to try again. Having a friendly and clear voicemail greeting is essential for any business.

Documentary Narration

David Attenborough is the first person who comes to mind when it comes to ‘documentary narration’ However, not all documentaries require a narrator who is experienced in the topic of the documentary. There may be parts of a documentary that are written/compiled by an expert in their field who needs someone with different vocal qualities to provide the narration. As an experienced voiceover artist I can provide you with great sounding narration for your documentary needs.

Audiobook voiceover

Audiobook narration involves bringing the content of the book to life and providing a clear and ‘easy on the ear’’ sound. Especially if it’s a non-fiction title.  For fiction titles, a voiceover artist with an acting background is beneficial, as they can provide distinctive voices for each of the characters as well as having natural storytelling skills.

Audio for apps

In today’s world, there are apps for every facet of our lives. Whether it’s a running app to keep your users motivated, or a meditation app to lead your users through a guided meditation, having a great voiceover can be key in keeping your audience engaged.

Voices for children’s toys and games

Children’s toys and games often contain buttons which once pressed, emit sounds. Sometimes this sound is a human voice, particularly in toys and games aimed at toddlers. Character voices can be useful here, as the toy or game may require more of an animal or mythical sounding voice. I have a wide variety of character voices.

Automated Dialogue Replacement ADR or loop-group

When films and TV shows enter the editing suite, additional sound recording is often required. This may be because bits of dialogue have not been recorded clearly on the day. Or possibly since filming, changes have been made to the originally scripted dialogue (ADR). Sometimes additional sound bites may be needed to help create a more authentic soundscape for a scene (loop-group).

I can help with ADR and loop-group voice work.
